Hands down one of the best bagels I've ever had. Probably the best ever. I got the sesame with dill and chive cream cheese. Made more delicious by the fact that this place is hidden down a short rocky road. And Agnes (the owner/baker) is a character - very nice. Overall, one of the coolest yummiest place I've ever been.

I was visiting Bar Harbor from Brookyn NY and this sweet old woman made the BEST bagel and cream cheese I have ever had. Highly recommend the place. It's very hidden so when you walk down Cadillac keep going until you hit a dead end and it will be on your left. You will not be disappointed!

My love affair with bagels has been a life-long one. Salt bagels, egg bagels, onion, garlic, dill, everything, sesame, poppy seed, marble rye... I'll take them all. I got spoiled when my fiance and lived on MDI and I happened upon this one-woman (Agnes) bake-shop, close to where I worked at the then-Bar Harbor Times. People visiting Bar Harbor from New York, the lauded home of the best bagels in America, reportedly bring back dozens of Agnes' bagels to last them until their next visit to the Island. There's never a guarantee about the quanity or variety, but the quality is always there! Never thought the best bagel I'd ever had would be in Bar Harbor!

Absolutely adorable owner. Even if her bagels were disgusting, I would still love this place. Small selection, so if you're picky maybe go somewhere else. She takes her time preparing the sandwiches. Homemade bagels are a delight! Her muffins were great too! Very charming, island type place. It is hidden though -- so keep going you are almost there, just around the corner to the left.

Great, hidden, local gem! The folks next door at Bar Harbor Bicycle recommended the Bagel Factory before we began our ascent onto the Park Loop. It's as good as it gets with a Agnes making each sandwich with much love and care. Small selection but whatever is left in the afternoon or on the chalk board won't disappoint. I had a lox sandwich on an everything and my husband had a ham and cheese on an everything and each came with unique dressings, and additions like fresh tomatoes, arugula, apples on the ham and cheese and capers on the lox.

saw a lot of reviews (not on yelp though) for this interesting funky place and went way out of our way to try it .. it was a saturday and they werent there even though the sign said CLOSED MONDAYS. bummer. i needed a good bagel. :( maybe better luck next time. if you go looking for this, it is pretty much an alley that looks like a private parking lot and you have to go way in the back. Some stores in town sell their baked goods too, and what i saw looked decent.

small selection , but great bagels in a relaxed atmosphere. the best veggie chili ever. Agnes will make you one of her bagel sandwiches while you watch and chat about something interesting. One of a kind place

Yum! We accidentally found this spot on Google maps as we were searching for some breakfast and were pretty sure we were going the wrong way as we turned down Cadillac Ave -- be aware that it is a dirt road/alley that dead ends at what appears to be an old house. This is the Bagel Factory. Be nice to Agnes who runs the joint -- she is awesome and will tell you all sorts of stories if you ask! The bagels are soft and yummy and the focaccia is incredible. I lived on bagels and focaccia with cream cheese and lox. She should definitely be charging more for her wares.
